VMC 27A Coca Cola Machine Restoration

VMC 27A Coca Cola Machine after our Partial Restoration
VMC 27A Coke Machine Restoration and Repair. Grand America Jukebox performed a Partial Restoration to this VMC 27A Coke Machine. We cleaned the machine inside and out, buffed the original paint, sand blasted the front coin doors and repainted them, went through the coin and vending mechanisms, replaced the main door gasket and (in this case) fully restored the cooling system
Inside the VMC 27A Coca Cola Machine coin door before
Inside the VMC 27A Coca Cola Machine coin door after our Partial Restoration. We performed a basic cleaning, went through the coin mechanism, lubed, adjusted and installed new decals
Inside the VMC 27A Coke Machine before and after our Partial Restoration. After a thorough cleaning, we installed a new door gasket, went through the vending mechanism and (in this case) fully restored the cooling system. Often mistaken for a VMC 33 soda machine, the VMC 27A holds 27 bottles in the vending drum. The center of the drum is the main difference between the two machines. In the photos above of the VMC-27A, you can see the center core houses the Sold Out linkages and is not capable of holding any Coke bottles. Where as the VMC 33 holds another six bottles in its center core, for vending. Both models can pre-cool another 27 bottles under the drum
The VMC 27A Coke Machine cooling system as it arrived for repair
The same VMC 27A Coke Machine cooling system after our Full Restoration. The original cooling system was removed from the cabinet, dis-assembled, (and in this case) sand blasted, primed and painted. We then installed new fan motors, thermostat, all new wiring and a new power cord. We re-assembled the cooling system and re-installed into the cabinet, adjusted the thermostat and tested for 24 hours
One of the most common issues with these older Coca Cola machines is the drain lines. They were usually made of aluminum or copper. When they get clogged, they rot through and drain into the insulation inside cabinet itself. In this case, the drain tube rusted through, allowing water to flow right onto the compressor, making it rusty looking. This is why we had to perform a full restoration on the cooling system. We removed the old drain assembly and replaced it with new copper, allowing for many years of trouble free use. This is a common practice when we perform a Vintage Coke Machine Restoration
This restoration was performed many years ago. We now rebuild the cooling systems, and install a new compressor with 2 year warranty
The VMC 27A Coca Cola Machine holds 27 bottles and pre-cools another 27 bottles. The VMC 27A is a single selection Coke machine. The VMC 27A Coca Cola Machine will vend the new small 8oz Coke bottle, Diet Coke bottle, Sprite bottle, Coke Zero bottle, the new Coke Life bottle and the small 7oz pony beer bottles, if you wish

The VMC 81 Pepsi Machine coin area before and after our Full Restoration. We completely dis-assembled the coin mechanism, had it yellow zinc plated then re-assembled. Chrome plated the crank handle, coin entry and bottle opener then detailed everything
Inside the VMC 81 Pepsi Machine before shows complete and in need of restoration
After our Full Restoration, the inside of this VMC 81 Pepsi Machine shows brand new. For our Full Restoration, we dis-assemble the cabinets completely, sand blast, perform body work and apply automotive quality paint, then install new insulation, restore the metal liner, add new breaker strips, gaskets, restore the bottle vending mechanism, replace the plastic main door liner and decals. On the VMC 81, we replace and update the bottle door light circuit by adding a new electronic style ballast, new power switch and new light bulb. We then replace the bottle door glass and door gasket
For the cooling system, we either restore or replace with new. This VMC 81 Pepsi Machine had a very good, working, original cooling system which we fully restored. We clean up the original cooling system, repaint, replace all wiring then add new thermostat, fan motors and power cord. We also replace the drain assembly with new copper tubing and new drain pan
We chose a two-tone paint scheme for this VMC 81 Pepsi Machine. We decided to go with a darker Blue than original (feeling it makes the colors pop more) and added chrome trim to separate the colors
For this VMC 81 Pepsi machine, we chose a more traditional factory look. Going with the factory Solid Blue paint scheme and original placement for the decals. When we restore YOUR VMC 81 Pepsi Machine, let us know which paint scheme you want
